Often we start out on a project with an aim in mind. I'm suggesting that we let go of having a consciously defined aim and instead that we trust our subconscious mind to guide us. Cultivating this aspect is central to painting meditation. Trusting our higher self will take us where we need to go in order to heal. Most often, we mentally will be tempted to override that process; we could focus instead on welcoming this new process. Doing so may feel uncomfortable at first because our knee-jerk reaction is to run away from anything we fear, to master and control what we don't. My suggestion is to welcome, these reactions, but not succumb to them; simply observe and let them go; this is what meditation teaches us as well.
